Teens Give Up Smoking And Fighting

The most recent centralized look at adolescent actions is comforting and advises that some security messages are getting through to American adolescence.

On the other side, kids are fatter compared to years before and just a third part are eating almost as many vegetables and fruits as they necessitate to stay well. And less than a third are receiving enough sleep.

And a very worrying new sign demonstrates that more than 40 percent of young people who force cars confess to having emailed or texted while driving lately.

This is really a snapshot of progress.  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which classifies the every-other-year review, was particularly satisfied about the decrease in smoking.

Dr. Tom Frieden who is the CDC director told NBC News that he thinks that it is really supportive to see how cigarette smoking rates are decreasing.

Almost 20 percent of Americans use cigarettes, compared to 40 percent in the 1960s.

While smoking is the only major avoidable cause of death in the US — it causes heart disease, lung disease and cancer — teenagers express a more instant danger.
